A World in Doubt
Eventually, in time, man will have no choice but to evolve into a higher understanding, where knowledge of man and his world will be of paramount importance.
Without understanding who we are or the world around us, we have no purpose other than to survive on this planet, being nothing more than but beasts of burden.
This is a world of increasing skepticism of what we are told as the truth, but how much of that misplaced skepticism is actually warranted? We should diligently question claims that are presented as truths—that is not up for debate. But sadly, many individuals tend to engage in severely dogmatic groupthink, accepting information without questioning its validity or the logical rational behind the claim.
Although this can occur in many different types of people and groups, this has never been on better display than observing how conspiratorial groups think. In reality, scientific facts form the very foundation of our understanding of the world—the science we are both told, and the science of nature we see all around us. The most proven facts of our reality are not mere opinions or beliefs but are rooted in rigorous research, systematic experimentation, and logical reasoning, most all of which we can each verify for ourselves if we wanted to. The beauty of scientific facts lies in their reliance on evidence, allowing us to verify and consistently reproduce their findings.
When individuals or groups fail to adhere to these essential principles, a cognitive dissonance emerges that clouds the very spirit of truth. This disconnect between their beliefs and the scientific facts can create a barrier, preventing them from accepting new information or challenging their existing notions.
Adding to the complexity of the matter, we find ourselves in a time where a prevailing sentiment suggests that nothing whatsoever can be trusted. It's as if a cloud of doubt has settled upon the minds of people, making it increasingly difficult for most to discern what is true or false, wherein most seem to live a perpetual dead-end, always seeking the truth but never finding it.
