Can Viruses Appear in Cell Cultures Spontaneously?

Can viruses spontaneously appear in a cell culture without the addition of viral proteins? That is the question I will address.

There has been extensive debate regarding the manifestation of viruses in cell culture without the introduction of viral particles to initiate infection and replication.

Why doesn't this commonly occur in cell culture? It is because cells lack access to all the necessary components required for independent virus production, as they would within a complete organism.
