2003 WHO Press Release & Koch’s Postulates
A continuation of my last article concerning misinformation by Mike Stone of ViroLIEgy.
Mike Stone claims that a 2003 WHO press release on SARS demonstrates that virologists are using the original, unmodified Koch’s Postulates. In this audio, I explain why this claim is false and why Stone is pushing it. I also discuss why Koch’s Postulates—whether the classical ones or those applied to viruses—should always be viewed as broad, general principles, rather than rigid rules, especially in the context of virus research. I also explain why the language used in press releases differs from that in scientific studies, and how this creates a loophole that virus deniers can exploit to further their narrative.
